Sandra Munt y el Ídolo de Bokrug”, título definitivo del segmento escrito y dirigido por
Rubén Arnaiz para el largometraje “
Doble Sesión” se convierte en franquicia, cuya segunda parte titulada “
Sandra Munt y la Sociedad Thule” ésta vez en formato largometraje unitario, empezará su producción a finales de 2012.
Arnaiz, director y productor de “Doble Sesión” ha comentado que: “(…)
Hemos creado nuestra primera franquicia. Estoy emocionado por ello. Las dos historias de Sandra Munt van por separado pero también son un círculo cerrado. La historia completa comienza en “El Ídolo de Bokrug” y finaliza en “La Sociedad Thule”. Adoro a Lovecraft de toda la vida y poder hacer algo así es un sueño hecho realidad”.
‘Sandra Munt y el Ídolo de Bokrug” está ambientada en la España de 1934 y en el mundo de H.P. Lovecraft, el escritor norteamericano de relatos y novelas de terror.
“Se puede decir Sandra Munt es la primera heroína cinematográfica en el mundo de Lovecraft. Es una mezcla de cine negro y terror con algo de aventura. La secuela, se rodará con gran presupuesto y un tono algo distinto” explica Arnaiz. “
Tiene muchos elementos reconocibles para los aficionados, sacados de relatos como “Dagon”, “La declaración de Randolph Carter”, “La maldición que cayó sobre Sarnath” o “
La bestia de la cueva”, concluye.
El film “
Doble Sesión” se ha financiado con capital privado, algo que se repetirá en el largometraje sobre Sandra Munt. Al respecto Jesús Sard, productor ejecutivo y socio de Arnaiz en la productora Amblost Meida ha indicado que
“(…) aunque con mucho más presupuesto. Tenemos que dejar muy claro que ambas están fuera de la manera de hacer el cine de España, no sólo por no utilizar subvenciones públicas ni trapicheos, si no por el propio estilo de hacerlas: yo también soy de los que llevo años quejándome sobre el cine español. Habrá que empezar a hacer algo, ¿no?”
Los efectos especiales de “
El Ídolo de Bokrug” han sido creados y supervisados por Javier Aliaga, uno de los mejores técnicos en efectos especiales de maquillaje de España y que ha trabajado en films internacionales como “
Faust” (2000, Bryan Yuzna); “El laberinto del Fauno” (2006, Guillermo del Toro); “El perfume. Historia de un asesino” (2006, Tom Tykwer) o “Biutiful” (2010, Alejandro González Iñárritu).

“Estamos muy contentos con el trabajo de todo el mundo. La creación de Sandra Munt y el mundo que le rodea lleno de misterio, monstruos “lovecraftianos” y aventura, está siendo muy emocionante…y verlo evolucionar en otra entrega más, es increíble.” concluye Arnaiz.
Varios de los actores y personajes de la primera historia repetirán en el largometraje en solitario, aunque sólo se puede desvelar, por supuesto, el de la protagonista, interpretada en ambas ocasiones, por la salmantina Aránzazu Díez, actriz versátil e internacional gracias a su conocimiento del inglés.
El estreno de “
Doble Sesión”, donde podrá verse la primera historia de Sandra Munt, se estrenará el próximo otoño, poco antes de que comience el rodaje de “
Sandra Munt y la sociedad Thule”, cuyo estreno se prevé para un año después, en otoño de 2013.

The special effects for "The Bokrug Idol" have been created and supervised by Javier Aliaga, one of the best technicians in special effects of make-up of Spain and that he has worked in international films such as "Faust" (2000, Bryan Yuzna); "Pan's Labyrinth" (2006, Guillermo del Toro); "Perfume: Story of a murderer" (2006, directed by Tom Tykwer) or "Biutiful" (2010, Alejandro González Iñárritu).
